My research is in the philosophy of science, with a particular focus upon the scientific realism debate: the question as to whether or not we should believe our scientific theories to be true. More specifically, I am interested in some of the background philosophical assumptions that frame such a debate - our concepts of rationality and inference, our understanding of the logico-semantic structure of a scientific theory, and the intelligibility of ontological questions in general.
